Cancel a job to stop a run or build you no longer need. Send POST /v1/jobs/{id}/cancel, or call cancel_job with its job_id. The answer is the job. It may read running while it stops, then cancelled.

Check what already happened

Cancelling can’t undo an action the job already sent to the website. Read write_status even when the job reports cancelled: Run a write again only after you know it didn’t happen.
  • Cancelling needs the jobs:cancel permission; see permissions.
  • A cancelled job sends the job.failed event to webhooks.
